William "Pete" Hodges

I sent you an email about a 1909 Mauser that I want to mount a Warner & Swasey 1908 musket sight on. The optics of the musket sight need repair and I am working on that seperately.

Steve, Another excellent job. I am more than pleased with the work you and Paul did on my budget Ruger 257 Roberts. It's now my walkabout rifle.

Steve, I really got a great surprise on the Mauser Action .257 Roberts with the Shilen Barrel, custom stock and Shepard scope. I went to the bench to zero it in at 25 yards for my first zero and planned to adjust after a three shot group. I thought I had a problem after my first three rounds, I only had one hole. It was not until I made the necessary correction to a perfect zero and three shots later that I realized what a SUPER TIGHT GROUP this rifle is capable of! I really had problems detecting the "cloverleaf" pattern in both three shot groups. Magnificent accuracy! Thanks for a great job!

Steve, I had the pleasure of shooting my Winchester M70 300 WSM today. After having you install the Lilja barrel the rifle shoots less than 1 inch groups at 200 yards! Thanks Steve! You've built several rifles for me and they all shoot beyond my expectations!!

All the way here in Mo and found your name on several forums referring to Mauser works. Great site and looks like you know what the hell you are doing around a mauser. Hopefully you will let me know what I have here. Looking forward to working with you on this

Just received my rifle from Steve, and I am very pleased with the workmanship on the rifle. The wood work is beautiful, and the rifle is a tack driver. I started @ 250 meters with factory loads and placed 2" groups. Next week I begin on the 500 meter marker!!! Great work Steve. and thank you for this fine rifle that you built for me.

Steve has followed up my 8MM with a .308 project that's now complete and it has surpassed all my expectations. This rifle has been test fired for over a month using my reloads and has consistently shot .5" to .625" groups at 200 yards. Steve has the rifle posted on his web gallery. It's the .308 with the Douglas XX Select Air Grade Barrel and Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock. Thanks Steve and Paul for a "pin point" accurate machine! You guys are the best!

Steve built an 8MM for me last year that's proven the most accurate rifle I own and I own a #@*%load of rifles! You can see the rifle on his website at the bottom of his custom rifles photo gallery. This rifle will consistently shoot .625 to .750 inch groups at 200 yards shooting a 200 grain Sierra Match BTHP. Steve's working on a .308 project for me that should be complete within a couple of weeks or so and I can't wait to test it. Steve is a master rifle builder and I'll continue to have him building rifles for me in the future!

Steve,
Super work on all my rifles. New custom Ruger 77RL with the Douglas barrel in 6.5x55 is a tackdriver. One shot, one deer at 200+ yds. Perfect heart shot. This guy knows his way around a rifle.

I want to tell you how much I appreciate all the fine work you did on the 35 Whelen. You are a gifted gunmaker and I was lucky to have you work on it. I have a few other projects I would like you to do when you have a bit of time.

Steve just built an 8mm with a Mauser Long Action on an Adams & Bennett 26" Bull Barrel adding a Timney 2-12 lb. trigger. She shot a 3/4" grouping at 150 yds! The quality of Steve's work is detailed in every aspect of this rifle! Steve, you're a "Master" and we'll talk soon about the next recipe for fun!
